In the first line Astolfo is an extraordinary piece of Furniture. Massive wood, high quality metal parts and modern technology – all this united in one stunning product which has good chances to become a real classic product. On the international lighting fair 2015 Euroluce Astolfo was a bright star. On the other hand this floor lamp is a functional hybrid, which can be used for different purposes.
The massive Body (oak or walnut) has three precise cuts where the light element can be freely mounted. So Astolfo can be used as normal floor lamp, as beautiful pendant lamp substitute (for example for tables) and also as a arc-lamp substitute.
The power cable is plugged on one side of the LED light element. The plug reminds of an old audio chinch plug and is made of stainless steel. Generally the form of the body reminds of high-class speaker and has a Vintage touch, but the overall picture changes because of the modern materials.
Seen from a technical side Astolfo is extremely high class. It has two LED lights element with CRI>90 and 3000k – which produces a very natural bright light. Each light element is dimmable separately with the power buttons on the top of the wooden body.
The Astolfo has double LED lights in the wooden part. The dimmable LED sources are along the arm and on the base back, creating both indirect and direct lighting. The Astofol HT does not have this second, integrated light element and a metal cover – so it seems to be more modern but not that luxury.
Every Astolfo tells a little story, the wooden part is made of recycled beams from old buildings.

Floor lamp with decentralized lighting spot and with a thin geometric structure finely realized in aluminium sheet and available in graphite grey or pearl grey finishes. The framework is composed of two parts, one pivoted on the other, fixed by a metal adjustable wire along the structure and set on the metal rhomboidal base. The adjustment of the metal wire allows height regulation of the large textile diffuser that hides the light source. Diffuser available in four colors: white, red wine and sage.

ISSEY MIYAKE. This new process was developed using a mathematical program with 3-D geometric principals by Jun Mitani. 132 5. ISSEY MIYAKE is an extremely ingenious way by which to make clothing, and a process that provides yet another example of directions the quest for innovative textiles technologies can take. The project comes from the intersection of creativity and mathematics, resulting in clothing that can be folded flat and become 3D shapes, starting from a single piece of cloth. As the Reality Lab. explored 132 5. ISSEY MIYAKE’s potential in areas beyond clothing, a natural extension of the process was lighting products.
IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKE was born from a collaboration with Artemide marrying their lighting expertise with the Lab.’s innovative approach to the material and design. The IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKE lighting collection was co-developed and manufactured by Artemide. It is a collection of free-standing, table and hanging lights. Each lampshade is created using 2 or 3D mathematic principals, where light and shade harmoniously alternate. Miyake’s unique folding technology creates both statuesque forms as well as sufficient solidity. The structure of the recycled material, together with an additional surface treatment allows these shades to perfectly keep their shape without the need for internal frame, and to be re-shaped when needed. They can be easily stored flat when not in use.

Tuareg's structure is inspired by man-made architecture which is nevertheless bound to the world of nature with materials such as branches and cane according to an instinctive, dynamic creative logic. It is chaos turned order, non-traditional geometry echoing a work of land art. By means of a complex industrialisation process, this initial idea took the form of a three dimensional composition of aluminium tubes creating a spectacularly powerfully graphic effect.
LED light sources have been incorporated into the extremities of three of these elements which can be switched on and off separately and adjusted 350 degrees in order to vary the light effect and the lamp's possible uses. The structure has been made even more minimalist by integrated touch switches and the system used to hide the power cables within tubular elements. A formal totem-like presence highlighted by the expressive power of the lamp's two colour variants: a bright orange which echoes the industrial hues of anti-rust paints and black chrome which evokes precious metals. Like a sculptural decoration, Tuareg is the ideal centrepiece for an important reception space in both public and private spaces and in multiple compositions creating veritable lighting installations too.
